Bring the joy of yoga to your child’s school!  Yoga for kids is a great way for children to learn how to reduce stress, as well as improve concentration, mood, balance, and flexibility.  And best of all, kids think yoga is fun!

CLASSES:

  • can be scheduled either before or after school
  • Convenient – classes arranged at your child’s school with classroom pickup at dismissal time!
  • Home school option – want a class for your home school group/co-op?  Simply provide the space, and we will come to you!

 PRE-school Class description

In this playful yoga class designed especially for pre-school aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and help them understand how to identify and manage their feelings. Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class.  Each class ends with a period of relaxation. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

Elementary school Class description

Yoga is an ancient healing practice known to calm the body, mind, and emotions. In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged-children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.  Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class.  Each class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

middle school classes

The Yoga for Middle School class focuses on giving pre-teens and teens tools they can use to reduce stress in their lives, promote positive body image, and increase strength and flexibility. Each class will include a series of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation practices. Classes will include discussions on how to apply what they learn in yoga class to help them at home, school, and with friends. Each class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy. Students should bring their own yoga mat to class.

·         Have over 200 hours of professional training in teaching yoga plus additional specialized training in teaching yoga to children

·         Have taught yoga to children for a minimum of 2 years

·         Take yearly continuing education courses in teaching yoga to children and teens

·         Have undergone state and federal background checks
